Darlene Eleanor Baumann
Darlene Eleanor Baumann, 77, of Dakota, Minnesota, died on Monday, October 4, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, in La Crosse.
She was born in San Mateo, California, on September 23, 1933 to Chester and Martha (Rehling) Bruns. She grew up in Pine Island, Minnesota, and took her step-father’s last name, Reppert. Darlene married Donald Ranvik in 1951, and they lived in Pine Island, Minnesota, until his death in 1965. After Donald’s death she moved to Dakota, Minnesota, and married Kenneth Baumann in 1969.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth and son Charles Baumann of Dakota; daughter Christine Ranvik of La Crosse; sons Kenneth (Becky) Ranvik of South Carolina and James (Donna) Ranvik Sr. of Stockton, Minnesota; sister Pat McCuish of Florida; brother Michael Reppert of Thailand; grandchildren Kelly (Andy) Ranvik-Swendroski of Omaha; Heather Ranvik of Winona; James (Jana) Ranvik Jr. of North Carolina; Matthew Hefti of La Crosse; Alex Ranvik of West Virginia; Nate Ranvik of South Carolina; Amanda Ranvik of Stockton, Minnesota; Damion and Jesse Baumann of Dakota; and life-long friend Pat Dutcher of Tenstrike, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Arthur Reppert; first husband Donald Ranvik; and dear friend Joann Knutz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nodine, Minnesota, with Pastor Dennis Harbach officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials are preferred. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Conzemius and the staff of the ICU and hospice units of Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for their excellent care of Darlene, and for their compassionate treatment of the family members during her sudden illness.
