Edna V. (Tolvstad) Huston
Edna V. (Tolvstad) Huston, born October 7, 1917, to Otto and Ida (Peterson), died on June 16, 2017. She was confirmed at Holmen Lutheran Church and married Charles A. Huston in Waukon, IA, May 18, 1937. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1979. Edna was a charter member of the Sarah Rebecca Circle at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, La Crosse, WI.
She is survived by sons Richard (Ruth), Green Valley, AZ; Steven (Karla), Appleton, WI; John (Rylla), Vancouver, WA; and Robert (Marlene), Kanarraville, UT, as well as nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Edna volunteered at Hillview Health Care Center for 21 years. She was active in her church and local Homemaker’s Club. Edna was a kind and generous person who was willing to help anyone. She loved to dance.
Edna’s family wishes to thank the staff at Mulder Health Care Facility, West Salem, WI, for its care and many kindnesses.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2135 Weston St., La Crosse. Pastor Bruce Iverson will officiate with interment at Halfway Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
