John Carl Lee, 63, of Holmen, passed away on Tuesday, February 9,  2016

John was born to Russell and Lillian (Thoreson) Lee on September 26, 1952 in La Crosse, Wi.  He lived his whole life at Village View Farm In Long Coulee. He was baptized and confirmed at Holmen Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School with the class of 1972.  After graduation he worked at Stark Electronics in La Crosse and Onalaska.

John was a life long member of Holmen Lutheran Church and the Holmen Jaycees where he made many lasting friendships.
John enjoyed all sports. He bowled for many years on the Wednesday night league at Coulee Golf Bowl in Onalaska.  He loved attending the sporting events at Holmen High School.  He also was a season ticket holder for all the Catbird and the La Crosse Loggers games.  Although John never drove a car, he had many close friends that were so good about giving him a ride and attending the events with him.

John enjoyed watching all sports on television.  He especially liked the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Minnesota Wild. He only read the Sports section of the La Crosse Tribune and could tell you anything you needed to know about any team or
player.  He also enjoyed entertaining his friends at his house for football games and his birthday.  He completed many word search puzzles and collected and crushed many aluminum cans on his many journeys on his bicycle.  He made us all feel guilty if we threw a pop tab away.  He would deliver thousands of them each year to Evergreen Elementary.

John is survived by his brother, Russell Lee, Jr. of Holmen, Wi, sisters, Ann (J.D.) Bricker of West Union, Ia, Carol (Gordon) Knudson of Holmen, Wi, Karen (Thomas)Johnson of Fitchburg, Wi, and Solveig (Douglas) Bockenhauer of Galesville, Wi.  He is also survived by his goddaughters, Heidi Lee Hund and Dana Michelle Schulte, 12 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Memorials are preferred to Holmen Lutheran Church

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm at Holmen Lutheran Church on Monday, February 15, 2016 with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Pastor Matt Toso will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Thank you to my friends, family and the Holmen Community for being so kind to me and for all the car rides.  You all made my life so much easier.

“I will call you if I need you”.  John

Condolences
