Robert Lee Crossett passed away September 21, 2018 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital. Bob was born June 5, 1943 in Marshfield, WI to Edward and Priscilla (Mitchell) Crossett. He attended the first 2 grades of school in Marshfield before moving to La Crosse, where he attended Hogan Grade School, Longfellow Middle School, and also Central High School, graduating in 1961. Bob was in the army 2 years and stationed in Germany. He worked for several years as an auto detailer for various auto dealers and had his own business, Pro Shine Auto. Bob was very meticulous about his cars and especially fond of his white Cadillac. Bob knew a lot of people in La Crosse and made many friends on his rounds to Bettys Sports Inn, Sloopys Alma Mater and Robins Nest to name a few. He truly appreciated their visits to his home during his illness and all the phone calls.

He is survived by one son, Rob, from Washington; and various relatives in Clintonville, WI, including his cousin, Judy J., whom he kept in touch with over the years. Also, he leaves behind his special friend, Margie Lemke; her family; and their dog, Skippy, who will miss him terribly. He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife; and a son.

We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Gundersen Clinic for their caring and patience helping Bob with his struggle with cancer. Also thanks to the amazing hospice team who helped Bob in the last journey of his life. Bob will be interred alongside his mother in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leopolis, WI.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 13, 2018, between 3 and 5 PM, at Adam St. Pub, 1200 11thSt., La Crosse, WI. No cards please; just come and celebrate Bob’s life.

Condolences

I was a classmate at Hogan, Longfellow, and Central with Bob; and with Larry Wallace during some of that. I was a friend of Bob’s way back at Hogan when he moved to LaX ca 1953. My heart goes out to all who mourn his passing.
