Obituary

Pamela “Pam” Ann Nasseth

March 7, 2011

Pamela “Pam” Ann (Harding) Nasseth passed from this life peacefully at home in rural De Soto, WI on Sunday, March 6, 2011 surrounded by her family.

Pam’s 7 month battle with cancer took her from us far to soon.

Pam was born on May 24, 1956 to Marie (Dybvig) Harding and the late Vernon “Brady” Harding in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Pam grew up in La Crosse.

Pam was united in marriage to Jon Nasseth on July 27, 1985 in De Soto, WI. Pam attended school in La Crosse and earned her GED from Western Wisconsin Technical College. Pam went on to school at WWTC obtaining an associate degree in central service technician. Pam began her career at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in central supply in 1979 as a processing technician. She then advanced to supervisor of central supply in the East clinic building and at the time of her death she was the manager of the logistic warehouse, mail room, fleet cars and central supply distribution. Pam continued to expand her leadership during the years of service at Gundersen Lutheran.

Pam served on the WWTC advisory board for central service technician and surgical technician programs for several years.

Pam enjoyed reading, baking, and crafts of any kind. She traveled to Norway, Germany and many places in the US with family and friends. Pam and Jon enjoyed long weekend get-a-ways throughout the State in search of treasures at antique and junk shops and of course the few extra dollars to be won and or lost at the various casinos.

Pam was confirmed as an adult at De Soto Lutheran Church under the mentor ship of Pastor Libby Howe. Pam and Pastor Libby formed a united bond in being a servant to God and Pam went on to teach Sunday school and take the youth of the congregations on several mission and faith retreats. Pam’s unique way of being present with people of all ages was a gift. Pam served on the church council and was very active in the fund raising activities for the building addition.

Pam’s sense of humor was infectious and it was a delight to be in her presence, whether it was at a picnic, staff meeting or at a project committee at work. Pam was fair. She always gave more than she received.

Pam was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, friend, co-worker, supervisor, confidant and mentor to many.

Pam is survived by her husband of 25 years Jon Nasseth; daughters, Lisa (Chad) Berra of Genoa, Thea Nasseth (Mathew Fronk) of Hillsboro; three wonderful grandchildren, Michelle (7), Mallorie (3), and Trevor (2); mother, Marie (Dybvig) Harding of De Soto; sisters and brothers, Peggy (Bob) Duncan of De Soto, Diane Harding (Dennis Brown) of Richland Center, Brady (Bonne) Harding of Onalaska, Mary (Kirk) Ghelf of De Soto, and Mike (Angi) Harding of La Crosse; sister-in-law Marla (David) Nagel of Eastman, WI; mother-in-law, Joan Nasseth of De Soto; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, Vernon “Brady” Harding in 1967; one sister, Christine Harding; and also suffered the loss of three pregnancies.

The family would like to thank the hospice providers of Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, and all involved with her treatments, especially Dr. Craig Cole, the staff on 4 center and the hematology oncology departments, and Pam’s daughters and the rest of the immediate family for their care and support.
