Patricia Elaine Peterson

Patricia Elaine Peterson (nee Stout), age 67, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, Wisconsin after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 1, 1946 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Orval D. and Verna E. (nee Bigham) Stout. She married Clifford Peterson on January 17, 1970 at Rosemont Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois and later divorced.
Patricia, Clifford and daughter, Jonna, moved to Sparta, Wisconsin in October 1970. She was a long time member of the Congregational United Church of Christ of Sparta and taught Sunday School for a few years and was active in various church groups. She also enjoyed being a member of her local Homemakers Club for quite a few years.

She is survived by her 100 year old mother, Verna E. Stout (nee Bigham); her sister, Jacklyn “Nadene” Mitchell; her daughters, Jonna Peterson, Kelly Peterson, and Dana Schaitel; a son, Charles Peterson; grandchildren, Casey Peterson, Kayla Peterson-Stein, and Jessah Peterson; brother-in-law Charles Clark; mother-in-law, Effie Peterson, former spouse, Clifford Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. Special mention to long time neighbor and friend, Jan Revels; and grand dogs Bella and Ginger, and grand cats Zena, Sassy and Peepers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orval D. Stout, her sisters Joycelyn “Magene” Clark and Linda “Joann” Jackson; brother-in-laws Bo Jackson, and Bert Mitchell; and nephew, Gary Clark.

Thank you to the staff at the Morrow Memorial Home of Sparta, the Mayo Hospice staff, the Cancer Center and Oncology staff at Mayo Health System, and to the Coulee Region Cremation Group. Special mention to Karen Neumann for her exceptional service and concern, Jim Heiderscheit for handling the hard stuff and dropping everything to help through this difficult time, and Acacia and Kathy from Hospice for your ongoing care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at the Coulee Region Cremation Group in Onalaska, WI on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 4pm – 7pm.
