Obituary
Paul Anthony Joseph Cuta
Paul Anthony Joseph Cuta, 83, passed away on June 30, 2025, at La Crosse Mayo Hospital after a sudden decline in health.
Paul was born September 18, 1941, to Albert G. Cuta and Marian E. (Havlik) Cuta in La Crosse, WI. He was a 1959 graduate of Aquinas High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1966 at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. He married the love of his life Donna Mae (Gerke) Cuta on November 14, 1981.
Paul was a photographer and hobbyist, who enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, trains, RC cars and planes, and shooting at the range, just to name a few! He was a kid at heart, who poured himself into his interests with great passion, and loved sharing those experiences and his knowledge with others. He prided himself in his vast trivia knowledge and loved to quote movies. He loved to sing and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church choir for many years. In his later years, he enjoyed building puzzles with his wife Donna and listening to music. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and often spoke of how he was so proud of their accomplishments.
He is survived by his devoted wife Donna, who took such great loving care of him in both sickness and health; his children, Beth Cuta (Chris) Swertfeger and James (Courtney) Cuta; his grandchildren, Dylan Swertfeger, Adyson Swertfeger, and foster grandchild “D”; his sister, Alberta Gund; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert & Marian; his brother Robert (Marie Maxine) Cuta and brother-in-law Joseph Gund.
Paul’s celebration of life will take place on Sunday July 20, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose St, La Crosse, WI 54603. His family would like to thank all that have reached out to comfort them in this time of loss. May he rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord God above.
