Paul D. Schnick
June 17, 1954 – June 20, 2025
Paul D. Schnick passed away peacefully at Gundersen Health System on Friday, June 20, 2025, with his sister by his side.
Born on June 17, 1954, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Paul was the son of Leonard and Helen Schnick.
He graduated from Central High School in 1972 and spent the majority of his career working for the family business, Frank-Len, as a fuel oil truck driver. Paul was a gifted cook and a talented craftsman—his woodworking and stained-glass pieces were a reflection of his creativity and skill. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his kind spirit, and his deep care for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Ron, Peter, Len, and Steven.
Paul is survived by his loving sister, Karen (Jerry) Becker; his sister-in-law, Rosalie Schnick; and his nephews: Nathan (Sarah) Schnick and their children Liam, Lenora, and Elizabeth; Philip (Tricia) Becker and their son Kai; Zachary (Gretchen) Becker and their children Ben and Anna; and his niece Andrea (Max) Trane and their daughter Helen.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Paul on Friday, July 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, WI.
Paul’s warmth, humor, and creative soul will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
I lived in the same apartment building with Paul he was a kind and funny guy I always got a chuckle out of a couple t shirts he wore it created a joke between him and I. I will definitely miss that he made my day brighter.
I am so sad to learn of Paul’s passing, he was indeed a very unique guy who’s wit and humor I will really miss. He and I had so many adventures together that would fill a book, not to mention his exploits with other of his many friends. High School friend, Groomsman in my wedding, friend forever, I miss you Paul.
Paul was a sweetheart person and he always made you laugh. If you were in the bad mood he would be right there to talk to you about what was going on a by the time you were done talking to him you walked away with a smile on your face. I’m so sorry for your loss. RIP Paul
I grew up with Paul. He lived across the alley from me. We both were in Central class of 1972. He was a kind, gentle soul with a twinkle in his eyes. I will always remember him going out if his way to help me. Fly with the angels Paul.
So sorry to hear about the passing of our dear friend Paul. He became part of the Skaff family! We
will miss him and his wit.
To Karen and Rosalie,
I am writing to extend my condolences on Paul’s passing.
I knew Paul as my friend Len’s little brother.
Paul had a funny sarcastic sense of humor.
May he rest in peace.

My condolences to the Paul Schnick family. Rest in peace Paul and keep the Angels in heaven smiling and laughing.
Paul was a unique and unforgettable presence in high school fir me. One of the many characters I think about and muss. He had a way of looking into your eyes, wearing a wry grin. He didn’t need to say much, he’d already figured everything out.
Karen & family, so sorry to hear about Paul. Just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you. Known the family for a long time.
