Obituary
Philip Charles Miller
Philip Charles Miller went to his heavenly home on May 20th 2025.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother and Father, a sister, a brother. He is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Phil was a good husband and father, and he prized his four grandchildren especially when they were babies.
His happiest moments were napping with one of the littles snuggled on his belly. Phil was a talented woodworker, making many beautiful pieces to give and he shared his skills with many, teaching public classes, and teaching his kids and grandkids how to turn a pen or build a bookshelf.
Phil’s greatest joy in life was when he gave his heart to Jesus his Savior and Lord. He found God in all things in life and shared his faith as often as he could. Phil drove a transit van, delivering people to appointments, and he said his van was his church and his opportunity to share his love for Jesus. He impacted a lot of lives and helped others in ways that are immeasurable.
Phil will be sadly missed, his absence leaves a hole that will never be filled, but he is happily in heaven with his savior, a beloved sister-in-law, mother, father and siblings, and a doggo named Buddy. His memory lives on in the impact he had on his family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers, his art and talent that he shared with multiple generations, and the space he occupies in our hearts.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Noon at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Old man i miss you but I’m happy for everything you did to me tank and my condolences to your family
I had the good fortune of working with Phil in the past. Unfortunately I didn’t stay in touch like I should have. We always think that there is more time. Clearly, he loved Jesus and his family. His enthusiasm and zest for life was contagious!. I will miss Phil and always treasure his friendship. He was a man of influence for sure.
So sorry for the loss of Phil…he was an amazing man…Phil was my drivers supervisor for many years…I will never forget the phone calls and stories he shared with me over the years and how he loved to talk about food and i will never forget his care and concern for others.
I got to know Phil through his work. He helped so many of my work family members lead full lives. They cherished their time in the cab because of Phil and the leadership he lived with. I will never forget the day Phil and I became friends and I wish his family as much peace as possible through this loss.
He was the nicest man I ever met I will miss him so much may he rest in peace.
my deepest condolences to the miller family. I had the pleasure working with Phil at public transit for 6 years. he taught me alot to become his assistant supervisor. he was a very good, caring person. he went out of his way to help many people. I will truly miss him
Phil was a wonderful and caring man! He will truly be missed! I will never forget him, his stories and his unwavering faith in God! Prayers to the family.
We were close as kids, briefly again in our 20’s. Our fathers were brothers. Cousin Phillip will always remain a special person in my life.
Love you Phil!
My condolences to the Miller family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the honor to work for and with Phil for almost 2 years and I am grateful he gave me the transit job.
Phil was a truly a remarkable man. He was a man of integrity, honesty, fairness and he preached forgiveness toward others and his passion for Jesus Christ was contagious. Mostly, he cared about his employees, the dispatchers and his passengers. What impressed me the most, was his desire to help. If there was a need, he was there to help. I will never forget him and I will miss him everyday. What I will miss most of all was his morning greetings….He would say…Good morning, happy, happy. That will forever be etched in my heart.
When I started at Public Transit, Phil and I talked about our Army service. He said taking people to their destination was his service to them. I asked him why not retire? He said he will serve until the Lord calls him home. That was last Thursday. With your service ended, I send “TAPS” to you.
Phil was an amazing man. When my grandpa Ansel couldn’t get to his wood clubs, Phil took him. Phil even set up a meeting at the nursing home so my grandpa could be apart of it still. Such an amazing soul and he will be missed.
I am sorry for your loss folks. I had the pleasure of knowing Phil, particularly through his mentorship as a woodturner. His ability to create gorgeous works of art as a woodturner is legend. I took several laminated bowl-making classes from Phil. He was an outstanding friend and mentor. He will be missed. Jerry Molnar
