BLAIR — Raymond J. Blasing passed away at his home in Blair on Aug. 15, 2012, after a brief illness.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1927, to Albert and Hattie (Kraehnke) Blasing in Watertown. On April 17, 1955, he married Jeanette Eggert at the Milford Methodist Church. Until his retirement he was a lifelong resident of Watertown where he farmed and then worked as a machinist at Brandt, Inc.

He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette; son, David; daughter, Mary (Virgil Frye); brother, Harold; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other family and friends; and his devoted English springer spaniel, Buck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alburn; and sister, Ruth Kreider.

A memorial service with Pastor Mark Dobbertin presiding will be held at Pederson’s Funeral Home in Watertown, on Monday Aug. 20. Friends and family may visit from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Final rest will be at Aztalan Cemetary. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
