Richard Raymond Uhler, 82 of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 26, 2024.  He was bornDecember 27, 1941 to Raymond and Mary Abigail Uhler (Dees). 

He married Mary Ann Corbett on February 12, 1966 at St. James Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Richard was a graduate of Aquinas High School in La Crosse. He subsequently studied at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in social work services in 1971. Richard served his community as a social worker for La Crosse County helping so many people in need before retiring. Richard enjoyed traveling, especially visiting his grandchildren in Seattle, and spending time with family and friends in laughter. 

Richard is survived by his daughter, Dana (Matthew) Kahn; two grandchildren, Samantha and Maximilian; sister Mary Lopata; nephew Mark Lopata; and many other relatives and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife

A funeral mass will be at 10 am Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crosse with a visitation from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass. A burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse. Father Robert Letona will officiate.
