Obituary
Robert “Bob” Allan Thiele
Bob Thiele age 65 of Holmen took his last ride on Wednesday June 1, 2016 in Holmen.
He was born on December 14, 1950 in Spring Grove, MN to Rodney and Norma Thiele. Bob joined the Navy, where he was enlisted for 5 years. He was stationed in Sandbank, Scotland where he met his wife, Marion (Barbour). They were married April 13, 1973 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Bob worked at Trane Company in La Crosse for 30 years.
Bob was an avid hot rod enthusiast and built his 1934 Chevy with his son. He has helped countless others build and work on their cars over the years. He always enjoyed driving his car as much as he could.
He found great pride in the accomplishments of his son and daughter. He was extremely proud of his grandsons and their many talents. He enjoyed watching Zack play basketball and attending car shows together, Carter playing his violin and soccer, watching Camden race go-karts and play football, Preston playing the piano and basketball, and Braxton playing baseball and basketball.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marion; son Adrian (Vicki) Thiele; daughter Heather (Brad) Schomberg; grandsons Carter and Camden Thiele; Zachary, Preston, and Braxton Schomberg; parents Rodney and Norma Thiele; Brother James (Carol) Thiele; Sisters Barbara (Carl) Harmon and Jean Thiele. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
We want the classic car community to feel free to honor Bob by bringing your cars to his service.
We lost our hero but let’s help the heroes of Holmen. Please make memorials out in Bob’s memory to either the Holmen Area Fire Department or the Holmen Area Police Department.
Service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday June 7, 2016, at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St. in Onalaska. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, and two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home. There will also be a celebration of life at the Holmen American Legion from 4-6pm after the service.
