Rosemary, Jean Hewitt (Marlow), 79, of Holmen, Wisconsin passed away on July 19, 2025, at 5:14 PM at Emplify Health.

Rosemary was born on November 19, 1945, in Indiana. She lived in a variety of places before settling in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1961. She met her husband James Hewitt in 1964, at an “18-year-old bar” and they were together ever since. They got married on August 27, 1966.

Rosemary became a mother for the first time when she welcomed daughter Robin, in 1967, followed two years later by son, Paul. She was a devoted and caring mother always focusing on putting everyone else first. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren great grandchildren, as well as many close and lifelong friends.

She worked for 40 years in healthcare in various roles and settings, including Mayo Clinic (Saint Francis Hospital), Bethany Saint Joe’s, Onalaska nursing home, county in-home care, patient advocacy work, and working with people with special needs at the Hearten house. She was proud of the work she did caring for others.

She loved spending time camping and traveling. She and her family did this growing up and she never lost her love of travel. She went on many big trips with her mom as an adult and traveled with her husband as often as she could.

She enjoyed birthdays and always made sure to send cards to people to make them feel special. Jim gave her a jumbo card for Valentine’s Day a few years back and he recycled it for many occasions, and she found that to be so cute and funny.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Jim Hewitt, children Robin Slaback and Paul Hewitt; grandchildren Kyle Slaback and wife, Anna, Travis Slaback and ex-wife Brittany Wise and their children, Nathan, Aubrey, and children Nova and Riley, and Mallory, Seever (Slaback) and husband Josh, and their children Ruger and Barrett; and her brother Ron, his wife and children. She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Verna Marlow and brother, Jim.

Jim, Robin,Paul and all of Rose’s family.
I am so sorry for all of you to have lost such a Beautiful person. Her memory will always be in my heart. Rose was more than special, she was an Angel in life, walking among us and always taking care of all she loved. My daughters God mother as well and who also loved her. Angels don’t know they are Angels while alive, but,we know them and we have been so blessed to have had this Angel in our lives. Rose I Love you and you were always more than a friend to me I hope you knew that. You walked me through my Wedding, sat with me in my living room helping me through the labor of my second child until Alan was able to make it home to take me to the hospital. You never forgot my children and alway bought them gifts, you never forgot birthdays and we shared my children with your grandchildren. So so much of my life was so graciously shared with yours. No one that I ever knew or will know as a true friend ( you were the only True friend) could ever take your place and Rose I want to thank you for always being there for me. My sincere condolences to Jim,Robin,Paul and to all her family she cherished and loved so much!
    ❤️❤️
    Julie
