GALESVILLE — Russell “Russ” D. Gilbertson of Galesville, and formerly of Arcadia, 82, passed away on Nov. 29, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

He was born to Arthur and Agnes (Emerson) Gilbertson on Oct. 14, 1931, in Arcadia. Russ married Lorna Hovell in 1954 in Tamarack Lutheran Church.

Russ retired from Reinhart Foods. He enjoyed working on old cars and he especially enjoyed curling with his wife.

He is survived by his sons, Randy Gilbertson, Larry (Leah) Gilbertson; grandchildren, Hans, Jenna, Kendra, Kassie, Kelly, Bryce; great-grandchild, Derek; special friend, Laurie Hovell; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by wife, Lorna Gilbertson; daughter, Leanne Gilbertson; twin sister, Rhoda Johnson-Isabelle; sisters, Mavis Strand, Jermaine Olson.

The family would like to thank the Eden House for making Dad comfortable in his new home, Dr. Steve Pavela for taking care of Dad and the family, and Pastor Dana Jackson for her special friendship through the years.

A memorial service will be held noon on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Tamarack Lutheran Church with a visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Dana Jackson will officiate. Interment will be held in the Spring. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
