Obituary
Russell Edward True
Russell Edward True, 69, of Holmen, passed away on December 21, 2024, at Gundersen Hospital after a brief battle with colon cancer.
Born on July 18, 1955, Dad was a skilled electrician with a lifelong love of classic cars, especially Corvettes. His 1970 El Camino, complete with a 1965 Corvette engine, was his most treasured possession. He enjoyed cooking, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, watching NASCAR and old Westerns, listening to music, and taking drives to quiet places to read the newspaper.
Russell is survived by his daughters, Krystal (Jeremy) McCormick of Holmen and Sarah (Phil) Anderson of Holmen; his grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa McCormick; and his sisters, Peggy True, Pam True, and Naomi True. He shared a special bond with his nephews John Larson, Matt Larson, and Jesse West. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Valerie; his parents, Anne and Bill True; and his brother, John True.
Dad’s life was not without its struggles, but he will be remembered for his passions, his unique spirit, and the memories he created along the way.
A private family burial will be held to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations to mental health or addiction recovery organizations are welcome.
Sarah, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Remember the good times with joy in your heart. “Rather than mourn the absence of the flame, let us celebrate how brightly it burned.” Author Unknown.
