Sally E. Johnson

April 21, 2020 | 4 comments

Sally E. (Pahl) Johnson, age 81, passed away in her home on Friday, April 17, 2020 with her loving family by her side.  She was born to Edwin and Edith (Bohrnstedt) Pahl in Arcadia, Wisconsin and later married the love of her life, Donald Johnson.

She and Don enjoyed spending time with their family waterskiing, boating, camping on the Mississippi River, fishing, hunting, and on their family vacations—many of which were to northern Wisconsin.  She particularly enjoyed the motorhome trips with their children and grandchildren.  A special time for her was attending activities that involved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She and Don also took many trips to Europe, Asia, and Canada along with traveling to 49 of the 50 U.S. states. Sally loved playing cards with her family and friends and spent much time on road trips seeking antiques with her husband.

She worked for many years as the manager and buyer for Kauma’s Childrens’ Shop and later for Shopko. After retiring she spent many years volunteering for RSVP.

Sally is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Peggy Quinn and Clare (Kenne) Happel; four grandchildren: Shauna and Bradley Quinn, Scott (Jenny) and Todd (Faith) Happel; three great-grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, and Carter Happel; two sisters, Sue Prinsen and Mary Suchanek; brother-in-law, “Choppy” Lenz; and many nieces and nephews—including special nephew, Joe Wooley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne (Carol) Pahl; sisters, Jayne Erickson and Judy Lenz; sister-in-law Helen (Gene) Wooley; and brother-in-law Rich Prinsen.

She will be revered and loved by her family and friends, who remember her as a fun, kind, caring person who had an infectious laugh, gave the best hugs, and who always put others before herself.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date when social gathering is permitted.

Condolences
