Sandra “Sandy” Kay Wardwell, 66, of French Island, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2016 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born September 14, 1949 to Ivan and Norma O’Bel. Sandy married David Wardwell on July 15, 1972 at the Janesville Methodist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her family and mostly grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David; children, David Jr (Tara), Debbie; grandchildren, Kimberly, Cody, Jenna, Adrien, Blake; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Staff at Gundersen Health System with a special thanks to Bert O’Bel and her family, Bobby and Kelly Wardwell, and Marlin Wardwell for their support and care given.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Rivers Harvest Church, 1001 Quincy St., Onalaska. Pastor Andy LeFebre will officiate with interment at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitations will be held one hour prior to service at the church and also on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason St., Onalaska.
