Obituary

Shelby Pierson

March 4, 2026 | 0 comments

Shelby Pierson, 79, of Galesville passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on February 14, 2026. On that Valentine’s Day, she was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Bud Pierson, and her precious daughter, Kathy Pierson—no doubt a reunion filled with the love that defined her life.

Shelby was united in marriage to the love of her life on June 25, 1964. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of devotion, faith, and steadfast love. Together they built a home rooted in Christ, family, and simple joys.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Trudi Lahr of Galesville (Jim Lahr); her son, Richard “Rick” Pierson of Galesville (Katherine); and her treasured grandchildren: Hillary Freitag (AJ), Corey Lahr (Mackenzie), Isaac Lahr (Carmel), Reece Pierson (Kayla), Chase Pierson, Katie Pierson, and Amanda Pierson. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Henry Lahr, Reagan Lahr, Levi Freitag, Myrna Freitag, and Esther Lahr.

Shelby is further survived by her sisters, Lisa Franz and Grace Matson; her brother, Ivan Henderson; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Sharlene Henderson, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Family was Shelby’s whole life. She expressed her love in countless tangible ways—through warm kitchens filled with the aroma of fresh baking, home-cooked meals prepared with care, and flower gardens lovingly tended in the sunshine. She delighted in feeding those she loved and gathering everyone around the table.

She was her grandchildren’s biggest supporter and most faithful fan. She never missed a wrestling match, gymnastics meet, or volleyball game. Whether in the stands or waiting at home with a hot meal, she made each child feel seen, celebrated, and deeply loved.

Above all, Shelby was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart, soul, and strength. She faithfully raised her children to know and love Him, and that faith has been passed on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This spiritual legacy—generations walking with Christ—is her greatest and most enduring gift.

Though her family’s hearts are heavy in her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and in the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, whole and at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 13 at Berean Baptist Church (N20601 US Highway 53, Galesville, WI). Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 5:30 p.m. All are invited to join the family for dinner in the church basement immediately following the service as they gather to remember, share stories, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.

Shelby’s love lives on in every recipe shared, every flower blooming, every meet cheered, and every heart anchored in faith. Her legacy is one of devotion—to her Savior, her husband, and her family—and it will continue for generations to come.
