Obituary
Sherri Louise Schroeder
Sherri Louise Schroeder was called home to Jesus October 11, 2023, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. Sherri was born to Gerald “Jerry” and Elizabeth “Betty” Hass on January 8, 1958, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Sherri met the love of her life, Gordon “Gordie” Schroeder in March of 1975 at her parents’ business. They married September 27, 1975, and went on to raise three children, Bradley, Brian, and Nichole.
In addition to being a resolute and loving wife and mother, her devotion for her grandchildren shined through, she constantly beamed with pride and admiration for all of them. Sherri also loved teaching Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and volunteering at church. She especially cherished sharing God’s word with young children and teaching them about Jesus. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Sherri joins her parents, Jerry and Betty, her sister, Brenda, and her infant granddaughter Kaelyn Marie Coles in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Gordie, her sisters, Bridget Butterfield, Susan Gerke, and Karen Hoyt-Hass, her brother Timothy, her children, Bradley (Samantha), Brian (Kasey), Nichole Coles (Joshua), and her grandchildren, Jaden, Caleb, Olivia, Mason, Colton, and Brennan.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska. Pastor Daniel Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mayo Clinic palliative care and hospice for the care Sherri and her family received.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Chileda of La Crosse.
