Steven “Steve” R. Melcher age 72 passed away peacefully at home on September 6th, 2025, Surrounded by family.

He was born on February 11th, 1953. He was married to a wonderful woman named Hannelore (Hanne) Melcher of 34 years.

He was preceded in passing by his Parents Harlyn (Carol) Melcher and his cat Fluffy.

He is survived by 3 boys Johnny (Krystal) Melcher of Maine, Bradley Melcher of La Crosse, and Justin Melcher of La Crosse. As well as 3 granddaughters Isabelle (20), Destine (17), Sadie (12), and of course his beloved companion Midnight.

Steve was a proud Vietnam Vet and retired Navy Seabees. Steve loved to build Legos and tinker with small projects.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 2025, 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church 2100 Bainbridge St. on French Island. Military honors will follow.
