Sylvester Sedbrook
Sylvester “Syd” Henry Sedbrook, 80, of La Crosse passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2013, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
He was born on April 17, 1932, to Melvin and Dora (Udelhoven) Sedbrook. He married Jeanette M. Wallenhorst on June 23, 1953, at St. Andrew Parish in Tennyson, Wis.
Syd loved antiques, auctions, traveling and visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of La Crosse; sister, Luella (Francis) Polfer; sons, David (Jo Anne) Sedbrook of East Dubuque, Iowa, Dale (Julia) Sedbrook of Hot Springs, Ark., and Darreyl (Laurie) Sedbrook of Rosemount, Minn.; daughters, Shelly (Greg) Gentry of La Crosse, Cheryl (Dan) Gotzinger of Littleton, Colo., and Melanie (Yancy) Nichol of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many neices; nephews; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lavern(Clementine), Joseph (Marie), Edmond (Avanelle), Donald (Rita), and Merlin; and many relatives and lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank Hillview Health Care Center, Gundersen Lutheran Hospice, and St. Andrew Parish.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, Wis. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with a public visitation one hour before the service at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hillview Activity Fund and Hillview Bird Seed Program.
