Obituary

Teresa Rose Page

Teresa Rose Page (née Breuer), 63, passed away peacefully at home on October 12th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and her loyal pets. After a brief but fierce battle with cancer, Teresa went out the same way that she lived, on her own terms, with humor, courage, and a little bit of sass. She was devoted mother, sister, and friend who lived life out loud: fully, fiercely, and often hilariously.

Born on May 14th, 1962, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Martin and Jane Breuer, Teresa spent part of her childhood in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, where she formed wonderful lifelong friendships. Eventually, Teresa and her family returned to La Crosse, where her magnetic personality continued to draw people in.

A proud 1980 graduate of Logan High School, Teresa was both an energetic cheerleader and a talented artist, two sides of her personality that summed her up perfectly. She had a gift for finding humor in any situation and wasn’t afraid to act silly if it meant bringing joy to those around her. In her younger years, Teresa was known as the life of the party, always ready to dance, sing karaoke, and find ways to make everyone laugh, even in the most serious moments. Teresa would joke that she “invented cool” and many would agree with that assessment.

A wild child with a heart full of adventure, Teresa carried that spark all her life. She always managed to face life’s challenges with courage, stubborn determination, and an optimistic attitude to do whatever was needed to overcome them– she was a true survivor. She was a fierce protector of the people (and animals) she loved, often taking in strays of both the human and furry variety.

Teresa always wanted to be a mother and dedicated her life to being there for her children. She had one daughter and two sons from her earlier marriage, whom she loved beyond measure. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and purpose. She treasured the years she spent living in North Carolina with her daughter and two grandchildren, soaking up the sun, enjoying beach days, sightseeing new places, and creating countless memories together before eventually returning home in 2020 to “freeze again” in Wisconsin. This is when she met the love of her life, Jeff.

She leaves behind her supportive partner, Jeff Wickus; her children, Desiree, Anthony, and Martin; her adored grandchildren, Ally and Keegan; her sister and loving sidekick, Pamela (Ken) Foster; nieces Jamie and Tabetha; nephew Bryce; and her furry crew, Bella, Tilly, and her velcro pup, Hazel.

She is now reunited with her parents, Martin and Jane; her great-nephew, Ethan; her childhood best friend, Mary Jo Letendre, and we know she’s so happy to be with her beloved Koda on the other side. Heaven better be ready for them to cause some good trouble and loud laughter.

Teresa will be remembered for her humor, strength, nurturing nature, compassion, and the unwavering love she gave to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her motto: “Your time on earth is limited. Don’t try to “age with grace”, age with mischief, audacity, and a good story to tell”.

A public celebration of Teresa’s life will be held on Friday, November 21 st , 2025, at Horizon Fellowship, 85 Milwaukee St. La Crosse, WI 54603 from 12pm-3pm. The service will start at noon with lunch to follow.

Please bring your favorite photos and stories to share of Teresa’s amazing life. To honor Teresa’s memory and her favorite colors, her family and friends are encouraged to wear shades of blue or purple.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to lung cancer research or to your favorite animal rescue in Teresa’s honor.
