Terry Allen Hemker, 76, of La Crosse passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at his home in Barre Mills.

Terry was born October 29, 1947 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Walter and Arlene Hemker. He Married Dolores (Dee Dee) Dunlap on June 7, 2001 in La Crosse.

Terry grew up in West Salem, graduating from West Salem High School in 1965. Terry enlisted in the Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. After discharge, he drove semi for many years. During this time, he met his future wife. They were together for over 20 years before finally getting married in 2001. In his free time, he enjoyed dancing, especially polka, deer hunting near home and fishing up north. He retired from truck driving in 2012, enjoying a well-earned retirement for the last 11 years.

Terry is survived by his wife Dolores (Dee Dee) Hemker, daughter Tina (Tim) Swift, sisters Karla Pierson, Bonnie (Tom) Garbers and Beverly Olson Brothers Jim (Mary Ann) Hemker, Bob (Carol) Hemker, sisters-in-law Jeannette (Gregg) Leece, Ruth (David) Hanson, Irene Sargent, Mary Mohring, Diane Dunlap, brothers-in-law Mervin Dunlap, and grandchildren Savannah Swift, and Brandon Swift.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Dunlap, Ronald Dunlap, Fred Pierson, Douglas Mohring, Gary Sargent, Duane Olson and sister-in-law Barbara Lewis.

The family would like to thank Karla Pierson and Bonnie Garbers for all of the assistance the past few years.

There will be no services per Terry’s wishes.
