Terry Lynn Fillner
Terry Lynn Fillner, 65, of La Crosse, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
He was born on April 1, 1946 to Lawrence P. and Evelyn (Zunker) Fillner.
Terry loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He liked boxing and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a gunner on the USS Washoe County Gunship.
He is survived by his son, Larry E.A. Fillner of Florida; sisters, Cheryl (John) Atkin, Trudy (Rich) Hayes of Cascade, MT; brother, Butch (Jill) Fillner of Coon Valley; ex-wife, Margorie Fillner; step-daughter, Tammie Mojica; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve A. Fillner and sister Ranelle E. Bakkum.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Buckey’s Burger Barn in La Crosse. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
