Thea passed away peacefully on June 13^th,  2025

Born 6/4/1962, Thea spent most of her young life in Connecticut. She and husband Richard (Rick) King met and married in Hartford CT in 1989. A year later they moved to La Crosse where Rick could be closer to his large family in the Hollandale MN area.

Thea graduated from Rham High School, Hebron CT. She worked several jobs in La Crosse and retired from the La Crosse Tribune after working there for 15 years. She enjoyed bus trips with Rick to Banff, Branson and the east coast, along with a week-long trip to Hawaii. For years they enjoyed hiking local trails and extended car rides around the area. In later years her favorite pastime was working on jigsaw puzzles.

Thea is survived by husband, Rick, La Crosse, son, James Mitchell of Texas, stepdaughter, Bonnie King (James Gilles) of La Crosse, nine grandchildren and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Mitchell, parents Lee and Ramona Platt and father and mother-in-law, Fletcher and Ada King.

The King family will have a private memorial service for Thea at their reunion in August.
