Thomas Daniel “Dan” Dunham
Thomas (Dan) Daniel Dunham, 79, died on April 25th at Gundersen Medical Center after a nearly 30 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in La Crosse on June 6th, 1943, to Jack and Irene (Teff) Dunham.
He married Candace (Beranek) Dunham on May 1st, 1971 at St. James Parish in La Crosse. Dan held various positions in the beer industry, working for G. Heileman and Budweiser before retiring. Dan enjoyed sports; especially golf and baseball, spending time with his dogs and granddogs, and celebrating his wins in any games he played.
Dan is survived by his wife, Candy, daughter Danielle (Alison Krick) Dunham of Elkhorn, WI, brothers Robert (Cindy) Dunham of Rochester, MN, Paul (Linda) Dunham of Onalaska, and Joe (Cecilia) Dunham of La Crosse, sisters Jacqueline Tischer of North Canton, OH, Helen Hall of La Crosse, Carole (Ken) Borsheim of La Crosse, and Susan (Bob) Kjos of La Crosse. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Bill and Donna Beranek of La Crosse, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry and Jim Dunham, sisters-in-law Marilyn and Betty Dunham, brother-in-law John Tischer, mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Marie Beranek, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and James Krause.
A funeral mass will be said for Dan at St. James Parish in La Crosse on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at 10am. The family would like to thank the Medical Speciality Unit, Tracy Weber, Medical & Oncology Unit, and Dr. Kyla Lee. Donations can be made in Dan’s name to the Medical Speciality Unit at Gundersen.

I am so saddened of Dan’s passing. My condolences to Candy and all his family. I had the opportunity to see and talk to Dan and Candy at one of our ‘61 class reunions. I wanted to attend his funeral but will be in the Carolinas attending my oldest grandson’s college graduation.
