August 8, 2025 | 2 comments

Timothy Smith, 82, passed away on July 27,2025 in Tomah, Wisconsin. Born September 22, 1942, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Timothy lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family and friends and a love for the outdoors.

A graduate of Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Tim began his professional journey at Jack Gibbs Men’s Store. He was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Joan K Vos on May 10, 1969. Their entrepreneurial spirit later led them to open and run the Anchor Inn II Bar and Grill for many years – where “everybody knew your name”. Tim was the PR guy, and you’d always find them chatting with customers. They sponsored many softball and bowling teams; a role allowing them to connect with countless people and build lasting relationships within the community. After retiring, he enjoyed time spent between Seminole,
Florida and Holmen, Wisconsin.

Timothy proudly served as a member of the National Guard. He was an active member of American legion Post 252 in Seminole Florida. Outside of his professional and military commitments, he found great joy in hunting and fishing many places including Lake Geneva, Onalaska, Florida and Kansas– pastimes that reflected his appreciation for nature and adventure. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Known for his fun-loving personality, Tim brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan (Vos) Smith, his parents Glen and Francis Smith; and his brother Terry (Mary) Smith.

He is survived by his sisters Judie (Sturg) Taggart and Jeri (Gary) Metzig; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews who will cherish their memories of him.

May Tim’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at THIRSTY PARROT W3725 CLUBHOUSE DRIVE LAKE GENEVA WISCONSIN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: American Legion Post 252 1143 Park Blvd Seminole, FL 33772

I met Tim 26 yrs ago at our mobile home park in Florida. A great neighbor and friend. Spent many hours together fishing for bass and catfish. Usually with a rum and coke in hand. He and Joanie are both missed very much. So many laughs and such great memories. RIP brother.🇺🇸
