Tracy Kay Smith, 65, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Tracy was born on January 5, 1959, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to Stanley and Janet (Joyner) Crowell. She and her family spent most of her childhood living in Sylmar, Los Angeles, California, alongside her parents, brother, and lifelong friend Jennifer. In 1981, she met the man who would become her husband. While they were married, she had one son. They moved to Wisconsin in 1993.

Throughout her life, she had several long-term occupations, most notably as a Dental Assistant in California, a Patient Accounts Representative at Gundersen-Lutheran from 1999 until 2014 (where she met her best friend Brooke, whose desk was right next to hers), and a Daycare Supervisor at Burn Boot Camp from 2016 until 2020. She always did her best to balance her work and life; no matter what came her way, she never cracked under pressure. She provided for and protected her son and the various pets she had throughout her life as much as any mother ever could and then some.

Tracy enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, true crime television shows, Halloween, classic rock, horror movies, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a fantastic woman, even on the most challenging days of her life, and she never gave up on anyone she cared about. She loved so completely and so thoroughly, and the world was better with her in it. Her friends and family will miss her greatly.

Tracy is survived by her son Dylan, brother David, and two nieces Olivia and Carley. She is also survived by her extended family and friends who love her, including her childhood friend Jennifer, her best friend Brooke, and her dog Ziggy. Tracy is preceded in death by her parents, whom she must be so happy to be with now, wherever she is.

A celebration of life is tentatively planned for January 5, 2025, which would have been her sixty-sixth birthday. Specifics regarding the event will follow.
