Wesley Fred Lorenz

Wesley Fred Lorenz of La Crosse, 91, died May 29, 2012 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center.

He was born September 26, 1920 in the Town of Greenfield to Theodore and Mary (Starch) Lorenz. He served in the 301st Army Air Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of Corporal. He married Marian Meyer on April 26, 1947 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was a Master Electrician, and an IBEW union member. He was a member of the Freemasons Frontier Lodge 45, of the Stoddard American Legion, and of Asbury United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and helping others. He is survived by Marian, his wife of 65 years; his son and daughter-in-law Lloyd (Marge Loch-Wouters) Lorenz; his daughters Diane Bell and Nancy Lorenz; grandchildren, Peter (Kim) Bell and Leanna Murphrey; great-grandchildren, Madison and Alaina, and step-great-grandchild Grant; his brother Reuben Lorenz; his sister-in-law Erma Lorenz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters-in-law Edward (Hilda), Elmer (Ruth), Frank (Eva), Oscar (Elsie); his brother, Alvin; his sister-in-law Helen; and his grandson-in-law Ken Murphrey.

Services will be held at Asbury Methodist Church, 1818 Redfield Street, La Crosse, Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012, with a 10:00 A. M. visitation and 11:00 A. M. service, with the Rev. Lewis Lebakken officiating. Wesley will be laid to rest in Chipmunk Coulee Cemetery at a later date. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
