William “Bill” Young
William “Bill” Young, 68, of La Crosse, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 30, 2015 in his home. He was born July 9th, 1947 to William and June (Young) McNeill. Bill was the eldest of 10 children.
He graduated from Logan High School, 1966. After graduating he served in the army and is a Vietnam Veteran, with honorable discharge. Bill then was employed with La Crosse Trane Company where he retired after 37 years of employment.
Bill was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 52 in La Crosse and was Commander for 1 year in 1987 and life time member of the 40/8. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many years of camping on sandbar’s near Brownsville with family and friends. A avid bowler and also like slots and Dog track.
He is survived by brothers and sisters, Wayne, Mike, Vicky, Rex, Patti, Diane, Peter and Barbara Jean and many nephews and nieces.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Young, June (Young) McNeill; Stepfather, Gerald McNeill; brother, Gerry; sister-in-law, Barbara and brother-in-law, Patrick.
A memorial service will be held at 12 o’clock on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at the Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Pastor Richard Pierce will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the US Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 52. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
