Yvonne C. Peterson, 80, of Spring Grove, MN, formerly of Fillmore, NY, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Asbury United Methodist Church- Hospitality Home in La Crosse, WI.

She was born on February 22, 1930 to Leslie and Flora (Wallace) Washburn.

 

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Douglas H. Peterson; daughters, Marci Barnes of Janesville, WI, Michele (Stephen) Boyd of Aztec, NM, Meredith Huffman of Holmen, WI; stepchildren, Gwynne (Tony) Martin, Neen Linehan, Jay Peterson, Kent Peterson, Sheila (Ed) Kurz; granchildren, Brandi, Dawn, Gina, Shane, Shallee, Becki, Jeff, Keegan, Chelsea, Stephanie, Amanda; 10 great-granchildren; sister, Juanita Denny of Escondido, CA; and nephew, Jack Brostrom.

 

She is preceded in death by her father and mother.

 

Yvonne enjoyed a life-long career in the newspaper printing business. First at the Northern Alleghany Observer in Fillmore, NY at age 20, then to the San Clemente Sun Post, Metropolitan Greetings, Loma Linda University Printing services and the Spring Grove Herald.

 

The family would like to thank the care providers at the Asbury United Methodist Church- Hospitality Home and Franciscan Skemp Hospice.

 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2117 La Crosse St., La Crosse, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Coulee Region Cremation Group of La Crosse is assisting the family.
