Rojean Ellen “RJ” (Gillett) Alvarez age 58, loving wife, sister aunt and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Tuesday morning May 16th 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 9th, 1965 to Clifford and Lorraine Gillett.
She married Javier Alvarez on March 16th 1994. They were married on the island of St.Thomas U.S.V.I,  at the Elysian resort. She graduated from Cameron High School in Northern WI, in 1983 and received her Associates Degree from WTI in La Crosse, WI in 1985.
Rj went on to work in the Title Ins field for over 37 years working several positions and ending as a Title Examiner. She worked for Liberty Title, The Title Company and the last one being Knighbarry Title United LLC. She met many wonderful people during this time, making many great friends in banking and realty as well as surveyors and lawyers and the list goes on. Rj grew up on a farm in northern  Wisconsin. She loved sharing stories of growing up on her farm. She enjoyed roaming the 400 acres, playing in her pond in the summer and skating on it
in the winter, teaching the calves, as she wanted to be a school teacher, running barefoot through the fields, taking lunch and drinks out to her father and uncle, being treated like a princess by her older cousin Harlan, riding her horse, and playing with her cats and dogs. She
loved living in the country. And for the last 22 years, lived in rural  De Soto, Wi. Where the beauty is not only in the view, but in the kindness and generosity of her neighbors. Rj loved her family, her animals- 3 golden retrievers and her cat, and the Packers. She loved to
be out in the sun, go for long walks and hikes with her husband and her dogs and enjoyed listening to her favorite music. She was the “go to”  to answer questions, when no one knew what the correct name of the song was or whom the artist was. She was an incredible
cook who could whip up something Delicious in no time. She loved learning to cook Mexican food from her Mother-in-law and sister-in-law. She also had quite the green thumb, planting beautiful flowers in her 5 gardens. She loved having family visit and entertaining. She was beautiful inside and out, smart, funny, loving, happy, sweet, kind and everything one could wish for in a mate, family, friend and pet owner.
She is survived by her loving husband of  29 years, Javier and pet dog, Lambeau. Also, brother Doug (Madison), and sister Donna (Eau Claire), Mother- in- law, Guadalupe Alvarez (Sheboygan), sister-in-laws Maria (Robert) Dick of Waukesha; Veronica (Mark) Bonin of Sheboygan; brothers-in-law Carlos (Carol) Alvarez Wausua; Cesar Alvarez of Manitowoc; Tony (Brenda)Alvarez of Brown Deer; 14 nieces and nephews Bobby (Melissa) Dick, David (Robyn) Dick and Elizabeth (Seth) Bode; Callie (Jeremy) Kaz and Christopher Alvarez; Andrea Alvarez; Aaron and Carter Alvarez; Coty, Belicia and Lily Alvarez; Jacob, Brynn and Elyse Bonin and 17 great nieces and nephews; Uncles Robert Larson, Ronald Larson, Roger Larson, Aunts Doris Gouker, Lois Bilodeau, cousins and many special friends. Rj was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lorraine Gillett; Uncles Richard Larson, Lawrence Gillett, Norman Gillett, Duane Gillett, Aunts Lilian Carley, Edith Francois and Myrtle Beardsley; brothers-in-law Sergio Alvarez and Robert Bell. A special Thank you to Rj’s  co-workers; Heather, Heidi, Jinnee, Kay, Nikki, Tammy and to Javier’s family at CRH.
