Steven Adam Markevitch

Steven Adam Markevitch  59, Onalaska WI Passed  away peacefully on April 20, 2018 in his home.  Steve, a loving, kind  and generous man who left us to soon.

He was born  January 17th, 1959 to Tony and Sylvia Markevitch.  He married  Veronica Verthein 2001 in Las Vegas.  Steve graduated from  Onalaska High School in 1977.   For 34 years Steve worked  for Trane Company La Crosse as a welder and factory supervisor.  He was currently employed with Hydrite  Chemical in La Crosse.

He enjoyed bicycling, golfing,  working out at the gym and going to the races.  Watching College  football and the Packers with his wife.  He so much  enjoyed making sure his vehicles were always shinning!

He  is survived by his wife Veronica. Brother Jim (Kathy) Markevitch of Sheboygan WI. Sister Georgene ( Walter) Helwich Homer Glen, IL. Niece Colleen (Matt) Anderson. Nephews Jim (Michelle) Markevitch, Jason Markevitch, and Adam (Angie) Helwich.  Many great nieces and nephews.

Steve is preceded in death by his Mother and Father Tony and Sylvia Markevitch and brother Tony Markevitch Jr.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Steve’s life will be held  from 11:00 am until noon on May 5th, 2018 at the Onalaska American Legion with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made  to the La Crosse area American Red Cross in Steve’s honor where he was a blood donor for many years.

    Steve was an awesome high school classmate and friend. Just saw him and Veronica at my Dad’s Celebration of Life last Saturday. Always smiling and a positive attitude about everything in life. Going to miss you HOOTSKIE! My condolences to Vert and the family.
