Scott Alan Stingl
Scott Alan Stingl, 60, of Onalaska, passed away November 22, 2025, Scott passed away in the afternoon after a successful morning hunt with his brother.
Scott was born in La Crosse on September 17, 1965, to Ronald and Mary (Mahan) Stingl. Scott attended Onalaska school district class of 1984, during his younger years he delivered newspapers, worked at Hardy’s and delivered for Pizza Wagon. After school Scott worked for Aratek before joining the bakery in La Crosse, he dedicated 30 plus years to Bimbo Bakeries as a route salesman, he planned to retire in 2027. Retirement to him meant spending as much time possible with his loving girlfriend Tracy Riess (age 50) of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan (Children: Logan, Randi). Scott and Tracy’s love story began in Mexico where they quickly found out how much they had in common; they always strived to make each other’s life better from simple gifts, vacations and many fun matches rolling dice. Scott and Tracy were truly a perfect match, and she will forever remain part of the Stingl family. Scott enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, his family, his friends, his dog Hoss, 13 years of racing sportsman and thunder stock, hunting whitetails or waterfowl in Saskatchewan, riding his Harley Davidson, a cold beer and tequila on the beaches of Mexico, playing cards, sports, trapping, fishing, trap shooting and watching dirt track races. He proudly volunteered 20 plus years to the Mindoro Farmington fire department as well.
Scott had many plans for retirement; he anticipated spending time with his children Hunter A Stingl (age 30) and Olivya L Stingl (age 28). Hunter married Shannon (Nyhus) Stingl in July of 2019, Hunter and Shannon blessed Scott with two beautiful grandchildren, Oaklynd J Stingl (age 3) and Wesley A Stingl (age 1). Scott was devoted to being grandpa, always looking for a way to spoil Oakie and Wes, a box of little bite muffins always resulted in big smiles. Olivya engaged to Jeremiah (Jj) Pierce (age 32) in July of 2024; Scott was enthusiastic helping wedding plan. Scott loved his children, he was proud of their accomplishments, he adored his daughter in law and son in law.
Scott also deeply loved his siblings, Jeffrey W Stingl (age 59) of French Island (Children: Dustin, Jessica, Garret) and Colleen A (Stingl) Reimer (age 55) of Cottage Grove (Husband: Mike, Children: Connor, Mitch, Gracie). Scott shared a special bond with his siblings, they enjoyed vacations at the lake or at the beach, hunting and sports. Never a dull moment when they were together, the true meaning to quality time spent.
Scott was proceeded in death by his parents Ronald (age 85) and Mary (age 83) Stingl.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, WI.

I am so sorry for your loss.I went to school with Scott and he was such a nice guy.And would help anybody that needed help. as we were growing up, he lived on 2nd Avenue, north, and we lived up on the corner on the highway. Our last name was dlouhy
Although I did not know Scott personally, I had the privilege of working with him professionally and witnessing his unwavering dedication as a union steward. His commitment to advocating for his coworkers was exemplary and left a lasting impact on his workplace. Scott’s passing creates a profound void that will be deeply felt by all who worked alongside him. I will truly miss the chance encounters we shared—it will never be the same visiting his workplace without his presence. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time of losing such a kind and gentle soul.
He went out as any hunter would love to. I’m an avid deer hunter myself, so I can relate. I met Scott when I was a young girl, only because he was my little brother’s Dad. Scott has his kids that most close to him know, but his first child was my little brother, Thomas. Neither of them got the chance to truly know each other and I’ve witnessed that detriment. At any rate, this life is so very short. Let’s all do better if we can.
I will also add that Scott’s first born son, Tom, lost/we lost our mom about 2 years ago as well.
sorry for your loss
