Obituary

Amanda Kay Navarro

May 4, 2021 | 10 comments

Amanda Kay Navarro, age 42, of Taylor, WI passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021 at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse. She was born on July 17, 1978 to Gerald Laufenberg and Denise Mathson. Amanda spent her life with her partner, Fabian Lopez de la Rosa since May of 2002.

Amanda was touched with the gift of gab — she loved talking and always had something to say. She was also bilingual with English and Spanish as her specialties. Amanda also had a love for writing, especially writing in her journal. She also enjoyed coloring in books and loved her T.V. shows. She also had a love for cooking — a specialty of hers — and enjoyed cookouts with family. Her favorite snack was popcorn, and she was always loved eating it.

Amanda was extremely caring to those around her, and always put everyone ahead of herself. She never failed to put a smile on someone’s face. Amanda would also never pass up an opportunity to spend quality time with her kids. Most importantly, she loved her kids and her husband with her whole entire heart.

Amanda is survived by her husband Fabian Lopez de la Rosa (54); her children Alex (23), Gabe (25), Cecylia (20), Ariana (18), and Juan Luis (16); and close family friend Gracelyn Berg (18).

She was surrounded by her loved ones Fabian Lopez de la Rosa, Ariana Esperanza Lopez (Amanda’s main caretaker of late), and Juan Luis Alejandro Lopez.

The family would like to thank Cassie Geary, Jeannie Lindberg, Jennifer Boatman, and the doctors and staff at Gundersen Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Condolences

My prayer’s go out to the family she was a sweet girl I remember her as a young kid and she reached out to me when she came to the hospital here in lacrosse knowing I live here she just wanted a familiar face from home and needed to talk so I went to see her she had been in a terrible spot then and wanted advice so we talked for awhile and after we kept in touch she came so far and done an amazing job at turning her life around and after awhile we lost touch so it’s been awhile since we’ve talked I’m sad to hear she is no longer with us I enjoyed our talks may god embrace you as you did so many others you will be missed .
