Barbara Wewerka
Barbara Wewerka died peacefully in her sleep at Benedictine Manor in La Crosse on September 9, 2018.
Barbara was born to Marie and Cyril Clements in Mankato, MN on July 6, 1926. She grew up in Mankato and graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1943. She went on to join her older sister, Jane, at Mac Murray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. On June 20, 1946 she was joined in marriage to her beloved Joseph Wewerka at St. Peter and Paul Church in Mankato.
She is survived by her son; Case (Kathleen) of La Crosse. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Elizabeth, Joseph, Patrick, Dawid, Parker, Grant and great-grandchildren; Morris, and Miles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings Jane, Case, James, and William and her son, James.
A memorial service will take place at a later time at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the James Wewerka Scholarship Fund at Viterbo University, 900 Viterbo Dr., La Crosse, or the Joseph Wewerka Memorial Fund at Aquinas Catholic Schools, 521 13thSt. So., La Crosse. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
