February 11, 2021 | 23 comments

Betty Jean Wenberg, 87, of Holmen, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021 at her home with her loving son at her side.

She was born on December 4, 1933 to Harold and Lillian (Pederson) Wing. Betty married John Cadrant Wenberg in Milwaukee, WI.

Betty worked at Advertising Art Studios until her retirement. She loved her job and made life-long friends. She took special care of her four grandchildren, and always took them to all the fun spots. Betty was a volunteer at Northern Hills Elementary School for many years, where all the kids lovingly knew her as grandma. She loved playing Mahjong with her dear friends, reading, doing cryptograms and puzzles, growing prize tomatoes, tending to her garden and flowers, and canning to share with family and friends.

Betty is survived by her son, Keith (Deah) Wenberg; grandchildren, Elise Wenberg, Lauryn Wenberg, Lexi Carl and Dane Carl; siblings, Richard (Shirley) Wing, Beverly Reese, Ann (Ed) Nellis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wenberg; her parents, Harold and Lillian Wing; her son, William Edward Wenberg; and her siblings, Ronald Wing and Patricia Cooper.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the Bethany St. Joseph-Prairie Home Staff and the Gundersen Hospice Team.

A private family gathering is being held.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

I remember Betty fondly. I met Betty at the Community Center in Onalaska, and we enjoyed many playful games of Mah Jong together with your mother-one time in her lovely home! May she rest in the comforting arms of our Saviour. Joyce
