Obituary

Charles “Chuck” James Jensen

October 30, 2018 | 7 comments

Charles “Chuck” James Jensen, 57, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, died peacefully Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse shortly after visits with his family and friends. He was born in LaCrosse on April 22, 1961 and lived his entire life in the LaCrosse area.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Jensen (Bunn) and two sisters, Patricia Froegel (Stephen) from Onalaska, Wisconsin, Carrie Korish from Stoddard, Wisconsin, a sister-in-law, Paula Jensen from La Crosse and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves one son, Jeremy, from LaCrosse. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Jensen (1968) and brother/best friend, Mike Jensen (2004).

He attended both Aquinas and Central High Schools in LaCrosse and completed his studies in 1979. A great lover of the outdoors, Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman and never at a loss to share his stories and successes (or lack thereof). Perhaps of greatest interest to Chuck, however, was the game of billiards. Chuck shot on pool leagues most of his life and spent much of his free time practicing. He shot competively in pool tournaments throughout the area and LasVegas.

Great thanks goes out to lifelong friends Jack Bakalars and Larry Melde and special friend, Sue Ambehl for all of their love and support throughout the years. Regarding the relatively short years that Chuck shared his life with us, Dr. Seuss reminds us, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in The Gathering Place at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St. Onalaska.

Condolences

I have known Chuck for a number of years by the way of the Mirage. He was always looking for a good game of pool, and i was nowhere near as good as Chuck and i lost alot of money playing him. He was generally in a good mood, and loved a good joke. My condolences to his family, and friends,as he had many. May he rest in peace. We will meet again someday. Keep your cue chalked up.
