Obituary

Charles “Chuck” John Wolowicz Jr.

May 20, 2019 | 12 comments

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our son, Charles John Wolowicz, Jr. of Onalaska, WI on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  Chuck, as he would introduce himself, was born on March 17, 1978 in Berwyn, IL.  His youth was spent in Central Stickney, IL and Eau Claire, WI.

Chuck found great joy in being a carpenter.  He was also a builder of passion and philosophy through his poetry.  The serenity of being on the water in his kayak or fishing from the banks was one of his favorite pastimes, along with reading books about life, being true to yourself, and philosophy.  Along with his love for family, Chuck also loved his dogs, Papha and Sokie.

Chuck will be missed every day by his father and mother, Charles and Carol (Sopiarz) Wolowicz, his brother Walter, his brother Anthony (Stephanie), 3 nieces Brooke, Macie and Madeline, 5 nephews Parker, Preston, Oliver, Aidan and Jack, grandmother Carol (Berndt) Sopiarz, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.

Since Chuck’s death, many have written how fortunate they were to have known him.  A common thread has been how happy he always was, as well as how unique he was.  They’ve witnessed how giving Chuck was to anyone in need, not only with his possessions, but also with his heart and home.  He chose life over material things.  Many have said how Chuck made an impact in their lives.

Chuck lived the life he chose and wrote his own rules.  When not in deep thought, the thinker, he always wore a smile and flashed a peace sign if a camera was near.  If you knew him well or barely at all, he always left his mark through his uniqueness.

The world is a lesser place without him.

A special thanks to the many, very supportive family members and friends, to the staff at Gunderson Hospital, and to Coulee Region Cremation Group.

All are invited to his Celebration of Life with his family on Saturday, May 25th at 4:00pm at the Eagles Club, 2588 Hwy 53, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin 54729.

Condolences

Charlie was truly a great guy. We had not spoke in some time other then facebook until me and the family meet him to adopt one of the puppies from last year. And it was like we never skipped a beat. First thing he did was hug both me and the wife. The guy always had the biggest heart, and thats truly the saddest part of this. Knew Chuck since high school and he was always the same guy no matter what. The world is that much more empty knowing that he’s gone. My condolences to his family, we as his friends lost him, and it hurts, so I cant imagine how it feels to loose him as kin. Rest easy brother keep the beer cold. Up there until we meet again.
