He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Strauss; sister, Christina Strauss, and stepdaughter, Samantha Moore.

The family would like to thank his son, James; brother, Richard; and niece, Nadine; who nursed him and helped him during the last few months of his life.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

I have a lot of great memories of Uncle Charlie. He used to babysit me when I was young and take the kids camping. I remember going tubing at Apple River and sledding as well which was a lot of fun. He will be missed.

Growing up in the Strauss household, we were always causing and getting into trouble. This was part of the fun adventure growing up in Camp Lake, and I now have many interesting stories to tell my boys. I miss the mischievous laugh and the soft grin Charlie had, and of course the big heart for family.

    God bless

So sad to read this news about Charlie. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Lots of memories of you kids through the years; the summer get togethers at our old farmhouse when family visited….all the graduations, showers, and weddings in Camp Lake, and of course 4th of July’s at Pettibone and Apple Fests in La Crescent. I remember you as always having fun with maybe a little mischief thrown in. Condolences and hugs from the Meyers Family.
