Obituary
Charlotte (Char) Sbraggia
Charlotte (Char) Sbraggia, was born January 12, 1945 to Phyllis and Charles Timm. She grew up in Mindoro with her brother Chuck (Rhonda) Timm and sister Charlene “Chub” Timm. Char passed away at her home on June 14, 2020 surrounded by her husband of 53 years, Bob Sbraggia and their two sons Tony (Nancy) Sbraggia and Rob (Crystal) Sbraggia. Char was extremely proud of her sons and three grandchildren, Montana, Tucker and Maya. She loved nothing more than to support them in the activities that they enjoyed.
Beyond her family, Char will be most remembered for her unique nursing career. Following nursing school, she became a member of the neonatal nicu nursing staff at St. Francis Hospital of La Crosse. For many years, she helped guide countless premature babies and their families through their first days of life only to be reminded of her impact years later by way of letters and visits from the babies and their families. Following her years at the hospital, Char moved her career to the Melrose-Mindoro School District where she served as school nurse until she retired in 2012. Many would agree that Charlotte’s good works extended past her paid positions and volunteer time as a Farmington First Responders. One would be hard pressed to find someone living in Mindoro that has not been fixed up, stitched up or set straight by Char Sbraggia at least once in their life. For many, her comfortable, no nonsense approach to care prompted them to call 3007 before 911. Char loved Mindoro and the people that live here and it showed.
In between her works, Char shared beautiful, fun memories with THE best friends. From bowling tournaments, parties, coffee table chats, and casino runs, Char loved her friends as fiercely as she did her family. Their unwavering support helped to put a smile on her face up to the very end and there is no doubt that she is now laughing of their stories with her sister, Chub and parents, Charles and Phyllis Timm that had left before her. Simply put Char was a beautiful person that had a beautiful life and she will be dearly missed by those that knew her.
Friends are encouraged to join the family for a celebration of life on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 5pm – 8pm at the old Mindoro Elementary building located at N8244 County Road C, Mindoro, WI 54644.
So sorry to hear of Chars passing. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
She was a beautiful friend since I moved to La Crosse in 1969. I worked in peds with her. She had a good sense a humor, when our Janell was born, she didn’t think she look like us. Janell was a red hair so she would fit in her family and she wanted a girl. Just kidding. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Tony & family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I always remember your mom laughing and smiling.
Char was born while her father was in a German prisoner-of-war camp during World War II.
That is mentioned in this article that I wrote.

I am sorry for your loss. I will never forget Char and the care she gave my premature son. He is now 40. I told him how wonderful she was as his nurse for the three long months he was in the hospital.

To Bob and all the Family-My sincere sympathy to all of you. Char was (among many other things) a neighbor, friend and a nurse that all would strive to be. She and I go back to the days of playing the clarinet together in the MHS Band. She was always fun and full of energy!
