Obituary

Cheryl Ann Osley

September 11, 2021 | 6 comments

Cheryl was born January 14, 1956 in La Crosse, WI to Spencer and Shirley (McConnell) Olson of Mindoro. She received the LORD as her personal Savior on January 11, 2019.  Cheryl was received into heaven September 9, 2021.

Cheryl loved to spend time at her Aunt Louise and Uncle Glen Sacia’s farm.

Cheryl had a love for animals, including horses; and animals had a natural attraction to her.

After graduation in 1974 from Mel-Min.  Cheryl met and married Dave Osley on September 20, 1975.

Cheryl worked at Paramount Photo for a while before going to Metallics.  Cheryl also worked at Northern Engraving where she met many friends.  Cheryl then worked at TRW; when the plant shut down Cheryl went to work at Empire Silk Screen where after several years, Cheryl retired for health reasons.

Cheryl loved to fish and almost always landed the bigger fish.  Along with working, she always found the time for her children, vacationing at different campgrounds while teaching them to fish and get along.

Cheryl always canned the vegetables from their garden for the winter.  She also enjoyed crafting, which she shared generously with family and friends. Her unselfish love will be missed by all that knew her.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Dave, her children, Naomi (Reuben) Finney, Samantha (Brent) and David (DJ) (Jennifer), special friend Kayla, 12 grandchildren, Dylan, Terrance, Sophie, Abby, Spencer, Wyatt, John, Sawyer, Everleigh, Austin, Brayden and Isabelle, 1 great granddaughter, Charlie, her mother Shirley, 3 sisters, Kim (Mike Page), Sue and Tracy (Steve Smith), 1 brother Spencer (Lisa) and many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Spencer, two nieces Sommer and Carrie Clements and one nephew, TJ Storandt.

With all the health issues in the medical field, words cannot even begin to express Cheryl’s gratitude for the exceptional, compassionate care she received from everyone, from the receptionists to the nurses, to the respiratory therapists and the doctors.  Each one provided a personal caring touch. Thank you so much.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
