Cheryl J. Waller

March 23, 2023 | 4 comments

Cheryl Jean (Quall) Waller, 72, of La Crosse passed away on March 16, 2023. She was born January 5, 1951, to Merlin and Berdien Quall. Cheryl married Warren Waller in Holmen on January 6, 1973, and he preceded her in death on August, 20, 2020.

Cheryl grew up on the family farm four and a half miles north of Holmen with her siblings. She wrote that growing up on the farm was fun as a kid. She remembered there being plenty of chickens to chase around, helping bale hay and bringing lunch up to her dad as he was plowing the fields. The family eventually moved to Holmen, where she graduated high school in 1969.

Cheryl worked as a CNA for 35 years at Hillview Nursing Home until her retirement in 2014. She always looked forward to spring and summer when she could be outside tending to all her plants and flowers, while making sure the neighborhood birds had plenty to eat. She also loved taking her dogs for walks, spending time with her Grandsons and going for rides in her Mustang.

Cheryl is survived by her sons: Travis (Jenny) Waller of Holmen, Jesse (Kayla Wagner) Waller of Burnsville, Minnesota; grandchildren Jack and Peter; her brother David Quall of La Crosse, sisters Debra (David) Bilskemper of North Liberty, Iowa, and Cynthia (Wayne) Liethen of Warsaw, Indiana.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

A family gathering will be held at a later date. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Condolences

Travis, Jesse and family. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom, my Aunt. I keep thinking that your mom and dad are together again as they were for so many years. My favorite memory of your mom was how beautiful she was on her wedding day. I was only 10 years old when they were married and I’ll never forget.
You all have my deepest sympathy.
