Christine Denise Moon
Christine (Chris) Denise Moon, 67, of LaCrosse, WI, passed away unexpectedly on February 19th, 2024, with her family at her side. She was born on March 4th, 1956, in Belvidere, IL, the daughter of Richard and Betty (Carpenter) Burke. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1974.
Chris spent many happy years with her long-time companion, Jim Neumeister. She enjoyed spending time, laughing, and making memories with family and friends. She could often be found taking long walks, lounging in the sun while reading at the boathouse, or visiting her grandchildren, sisters, or mother. Chris was generous and kind to everyone she met, and she always filled the room with contagious smiles and an endearing personality. She spent many loving hours preparing food for the patrons at Sam’s Bar. She spent many seasons with her friends during leagues at Coulee Golf and Bowl.
Chris is survived of the home by fiancé, Jim Neumeister, who was indeed the love of her life. Chris was incredibly proud of her children: Tia Demand of Sedalia, MO, Cody Moon (Anne) of Chicago, IL, and Mikaela Mueller (Mark) of Smithton, IL. A wonderful Nana to seven grandchildren: Kaelynn, Brody, and Jessie Demand, William and Catherine Moon, and Mason and Maddox Mueller. She loved and adored each of her siblings: Connie Becker (Bob), Pat Dahl (Neal), Lorrie Willard (Dave), Bill Burke (Joy), and Sharon Burke (Tom Newquist). As well as a supportive Aunt to numerous Nieces and Nephews. She also loved and cared deeply for her extended family: Linda Kempf (Dave), Scott Neumeister (Lisa), and Kenneth Neumeister (Dawn), along with many nieces and nephews. She was truly blessed to have so much family and many friends that she so dearly loved and spoke so often of.
Chris was preceded in death by her father, Richard Burke, her sister Nancy Wright (Dave), Robert Neumeister of LaCrosse, WI, and Sandra Neumeister of LaCrosse, WI.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at Saint Catherine of Genoa Catholic Church, 340 S Stott St. Genoa, IL 60135. A visitation at the church will be at 10:30 a.m., preceding the funeral mass—no graveside service to follow.
A Celebration of Life will be held in LaCrosse, WI, on June 22nd, 2024.
So sorry for your loss. She was such a happy person with a heart full of love. Cathy and I will miss her deeply. God just got a new angel.
