I met Dan by way of babysitting his children years ago. He was a great and funny guy. After the kids grew up, I ran into him from time to time and it was always great to see him. He maintained his all too familiar humor. As a sitter I would wash his ashtrays and threatened to fill them with candy and I would let them drip dry which would cause him to cuss under his breath every time he lit up and would have to retrieve an ashtray. It was our little ongoing battle that was never won. He may be gone but the memories remain.
