Dean David Blumentritt

 Dean David Blumentritt, 83, of Onalaska, passed away on March 30, 2026 with his family by his side.  He was born April 7, 1942 to Edward and Elaine (Clow) Blumentritt.  He married Delpha “Dee” Fishel on June 1, 1963 in Caledonia, MN.

Dean graduated from Winona High School and went on to work for The Yahr-Lange drug company for 13 years.  After that he worked for Torrance Company for 35 years until retirement.  He was proud to work for both companies.

Dean loved anything outdoors.  He had a passion for fishing, hunting, trapping, ginseng hunting, mushroom hunting, reloading, finding wildflowers, and commercial fishing.  He loved walking his St. Bernard throughout Onalaska.  Above all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dee; children, Randy (Shelly) Blumentritt of Onalaska and their children, Parker, Eric, and Samantha; Tim Blumentritt of La Crosse; Pam (Terry) Miller of Tomah and their children, Cassie (Cody) Bird, Patty Wuttke, Ryan Wuttke, David Newman; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Korbin, Kolton, Karlee, Elsie, Mikey, Caleb, Roland, and Remi; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Micheal; parents; and siblings, Beth Mitchell, Wayne Blumentritt, and Beverly Blumentritt.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska.  Visitations will be held on Monday, April 6th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday all at The Gathering Place.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is in charge of caring for his family and funeral.

    I didn’t know Dean personally but spoke with him occasionally while he walked his St. Bernard around the neighborhood of Wilson St. I will miss see them. My condolences to the Family.
