Debbie lost her battle to cancer on December 29, 2022. She was employed at La Crosse Footwear for 32 years, Kwik Trip Bakery for 12 years, and finished her last few years in the health care field. She had a big heart for animals and a special love for her Springer (dog) Jazmine. Debbie graduated from West Salem High School in 1967. After graduation, she married Leonard (John) DeFlorian Jr. for 46 years.

Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, John DeFlorian; and mother, Dolores Werner. She is survived by her two children, Tammi DeFlorian, Jeremy (Rita) DeFlorian; and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Gundersen Lutheran Hospice-La Crosse for all their special care.

The family is not holding any services at this time.

  10. Your daughter in law Rita

I have missed Debbie since she had been gone.
She was not only a mother in law but she was also a fun, loving person who I admired for her strength.
She taught me so much in our time together. I am married to her son and helped take care of her before leaving this earth. As I took care of her, my last wishes were to know she was loved.
I wanted her to know I appreciated every bit of the love she had shown me, the past years, I did this by showing her just what she thought me, with caring, loving and compassionate way she had shown me.
I also took care of her, for the 5 weeks when she stayed up at our place, after breaking her hip. We had some pretty fun days together, shopping, going out to eat, and going to car shows. It brought her back to her younger years. I would help her do her hair and make up when we went out. Boy we had some laughs. My favorite day was when we redid the yard with flowers and wood chips. She loved all the lawn and garden stuff outside. I will forever miss you mom, and I’m honored you asked me to walk this journey with you. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I love you so much.
