Delaney Mae Gilster
DeLaney Mae Gilster 92 of Onalaska, Wisconsin, passed away on Feb 22, 2024 at Bethany St. Joseph care center.
She was born in La Crosse on May 1, 1931 to Herbert J. and Gertrude M. (Taber) Hall. She is a January 1949 graduate of Central High School in La Crosse and attended La Crosse Vocational School.
She married Richard A. Saltz Sept 26, 1953 in La Crosse, Wisconsin and they divorced in 1956. She married Kenneth W. Gilster April 19, 1958 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
She was a member of English Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wisconsin and very active in the church.
She is survived by her daughter Gail M. Saltz of Onalaska, Wisconsin, her son Joel K. (Donna) Gilster of West Salem, Wisconsin her daughter Ellen L. (Anthony) Sletten of Holmen, Wisconsin, Grand dog Harley, and granddaughter Kendra Mae Tillman (Chris) of New Mexico, Six step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, cousins and nieces and nephews.
She is proceeding in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents, her sisters Jean (Rudy) Schnurrer, Barbara (Victor) Strait, Colleen (John) Nagle, her brother Herbert R. (Bud) Hall, an infant sister Helen, her step granddaughter Sylvia Withrow in 2007, and several in laws and cousins
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 2, 2024 at English Lutheran Church at 1509 King Street Lacrosse WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Mark Kvale to officiate.
Memorials can be given to the Giving Hearts Choir or English Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Forest Dental, Bethany St. Joseph Care Center, English Lutheran Church and Coulee Region Cremation Group for all their help.
