Obituary

Dennis “Denny” Myers

March 13, 2026 | 6 comments

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Dennis “Denny” Myers on March 11, 2026. Born September 29, 1945, Dennis was a man known for his big heart, humor, and generosity. He left an indelible mark and his spirited personality will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him. Dennis took pride in his family, cherishing his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Diane Myers. He was a loving father to his daughters, Amy and Julie Myers and his sons, Brett and Brady Myers. He was a doting grandfather to Jesse Dolan, Azure, Somerled, Brinley, Hadley, Cadwyn, Ashlyn, Eivin and Berenger Myers and great granddaughter Arkham Dolan. Dennis also leaves behind his daughters-in-law, Leah and Carlie Myers. His life was touched by loss, as being preceded in death by his daughter Amy Myers, his parents Loyal and Anita Myers, and his brothers Paul, Bruce, and Eugene Myers.

Known for his love of the Green Bay Packers, he could often be found at his favorite spot, his boathouse on the Black River, listening to oldies music, fishing, swimming, and enjoying a Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy. When he wasn’t enjoying the river or cheering on his team, you could find Dennis playing poker, hunting, or simply enjoying family gatherings. His children have numerous lasting memories of him riding water slides, racing go-karts, and camping as they vacationed in Wisconsin Dells and Jelly Stone. Before his retirement, Dennis had a very satisfying career as Assistant City Engineer in La Crosse for 34 years and played on softball and volleyball teams, cherishing the friendships and memories that were made.

A visitation will be held to celebrate the life of Dennis Myers on March 29, 2026, at 12:30 PM, at Christ Is Lord Free Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at the same location at 2:00 PM with a luncheon after the service. These gatherings are open to all who wish to remember and celebrate Dennis’s life.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Our hearts ache as we say goodbye to Dennis, a man who illuminated our lives with his kindness, laughter, and love. May his memory live on, not only in our stories but also in our actions as we endeavor to live with the same grace, humility, and love he showed throughout his life.

Condolences

I have many good memories that a few first cousins created back in the day. Denny was the one with a chuckle & smile while we caused some ‘ruckus’. He was a great friend & a great man.

I used to talk to Denny in the pool at the La Crosse YMCA. He always said hello and was very pleasant to converse with. I was always impressed with his determination to swim and be part of the ymca community. I’ve had some health challenges my self but seeing him at the pool and being able to keep being active made me want to keep working and making sure I kept seeing people.
    Very sorry for your loss

Denny had rough time with all of his surgeries and cancer over the years! He fought like hell to over come them but to no avail, we are praying for his trip to heaven and many sympathies to his wife Dianne and his family! ❤️

Denny was one of my favorite cousins, as mentioned before. We did many things together and always kept in touch. We were classmates and class officers together. I will miss him and our phone calls. our conversations always ended with I love you!

I had the pleasure of working with Dennis for almost 20years. Denny was not only a coworker and a friend, but one hell of an engineer. “Outstanding in his field” as he would say when an Engineer was not in the office.
He made coming to work fun with his humor! All kidding aside he was an excellent engineer. He will be missed by many.
