Dennis P. Hanrahan
Dennis P. Hanrahan, 77, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 15, 2016 in his home. He was born to Leo and Evelyn Hanrahan in Milwaukee, WI.
Dennis served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1959. He loved fishing, nature, gardening, photography, bird watching, and playing cards. He was proud of his Irish heritage and was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. He worked at Yahr and Lange Drug Co. for many years and retired from W.A. Roosevelt. He also enjoyed his part-time job at Coulee Golf Bowl.
Dennis married Margaret (Eeg) Hanrahan and later divorced although they remained close. They had 3 daughters, Kelly (Steve) Thompson, Denise (Randy Eddy) Hanrahan, and Tammy (Scott) Isensee all of Onalaska. He is further survived by grandchildren, Patrick Hanrahan, Scott Thompson, Dylan Isensee, Tressa Isensee, Marissa Thompson, Aidan Brown; sisters, Patt (Ed) Biel of Dickenson, ND, Nancy Loepfe of Cedarburg, WI, Sharon (Ernie) Biel of Oconomowoc, WI; brother-in-law, John Bandurski; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Bandurski; brother, Robert Hanrahan; and brother-in-law, Paul Loepfe.
The family would like to thank all of his neighbors, with special thanks to Drew and Emma, as well as the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice and Dr. Nedoba for their great care.
A Remembrance Service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska with a celebration of life from 5:00 pm until the service. Military Honors will be performed immediately following the service by the Onalaska American Legion Post 336.
